Manage Lead Exclusions

Storable CRM

Use Lead text exclusions to protect SMS compliance and ensure your team only contacts Leads on approved phone numbers.

Quick Start:

  1. Open the Lead record and select the current exclusion status to review texting restrictions.

  2. Review text permission and decide whether texting should remain available for the account.

  3. Enable full texting exclusion or exclude specific phone numbers as needed.

  4. Close the pop-up when finished — your changes save automatically.

Open the Exclusions Pop-up and Review Settings

  1. From the Lead card, select Exclusion Status (A) to open the Exclusions pop-up. The current status shows whether the Lead is fully excluded, partially excluded, or not excluded at all.

    • Full means all numbers on the account are excluded.

    • Partial means at least one, but not all, numbers on the account are excluded.

    • None means no phone numbers on the account are excluded.

  1. Review Text Permission (B) to confirm whether the Lead can receive text messages.

    • If Yes is selected, texts can be sent unless other exclusions are applied later in this workflow.

    • If No is selected, texting to all numbers in the account is blocked.

This setting is established when the Lead is created. In many accounts, management settings require you to confirm SMS Consent for new Leads.

    • If the Lead was created in Storable CRM, the user is prompted to ask for text permission and choose Yes or No when saving the Lead.

    • If the Lead was created in your property management system, text permission defaults to No. If the customer later gives permission, you can update the setting to Yes.

If your management settings do not require you to confirm SMS Consent for new Leads, text permission is set to Yes for all Leads, regardless of where they are created. Once text permission is set to Yes during Lead creation, it cannot be changed to No. To block texting after that point, use the exclusion settings below.

  1. Enable or Disable Texting (C) to block texting for all phone numbers associated with the Lead. This prevents follow-up texts from being sent automatically or scheduled, and it blocks users from sending texts to any number in the account.

Exclude Individual Phone Numbers

  1. Use the phone-number exclusion section to block texting only for selected numbers, instead of the full account.

This setting is number-specific and also applies to any other Lead or Customer at the location who shares the same phone number. The excluded number will stop receiving texts, while other numbers on the record can continue to receive communication based on Text Permission (B) and Disable Texting (C).

  2. Review By Customer (D) to see whether the Lead has excluded a number by replying STOP to an inbound text. When this checkbox is selected, the system shows the date and time the STOP message was received, along with the Lead’s name. This field is system-controlled and cannot be edited by a user.

  3. Select By User (E) when a Lead asks you verbally or electronically to exclude a specific phone number from texting. This blocks texting only for the selected number or numbers.

  1. Select Close (F) when you are finished. All changes made in the Exclusions pop-up are saved automatically, and the Lead card reopens in full-screen view.
