Delete a Lead

Storable CRM

Deleting leads helps keep your CRM data accurate and prevents removed leads from affecting conversion reporting.

Quick Start:

  1. Open the lead and change its status to Cancelled if it's still active.

  2. Enter a cancellation reason and any optional competitor or note details, then confirm the cancellation.

  3. Choose whether to stop at Cancelled or permanently delete the lead.

  4. Save the record to apply the change.

Prerequisite: You must be able to edit lead records in Storable CRM. If the lead is Active, you must first change it to Cancelled before you can delete it.

Enter Cancellation Details

Note: Active leads cannot be deleted directly. You must cancel the lead first, then complete the deletion.

  1. In the Lead card, click Status (A) and select Cancelled (B).

Note: After you select Cancelled, the Cancel Lead window appears.

  1. Select a cancellation Reason (C). This information appears in the Cancellation Reasons Report.

  2. Optional: If the lead rented elsewhere, select Competitor (D). This information appears in the Competitors Report.

  3. Optional: Add details in Notes (E) to explain why the lead was cancelled.

  4. Click Confirm (F) to close the Cancel Lead window. This option is enabled after you select a Reason (C).

Choose Whether to Delete the Lead

  1. If you only want to stop follow-up activity and keep the lead as cancelled, click No, just cancel Lead (G). The lead remains in a Cancelled status and is removed from Follow-up events.

  2. If you want to permanently remove the lead, click Yes, delete Lead (H). Deleted leads are permanently removed from the system and, depending on your property management software, may also be removed there.

  3. Click Save (I) to apply your changes.

Delete a Cancelled Lead

  1. In the Lead card, click Status (A) and select Delete (B).

  2. In the Permanently Delete Lead window, click Yes, delete Lead (C) to confirm the deletion. This action is permanent and cannot be reversed. If you choose this option, continue to Save (E) to finish the process.

  3. If you do not want to delete the lead, click Cancel (D). This closes the Permanently Delete Lead window and keeps the lead in Cancelled status. You do not need to save because no changes were made.

  4. Click Save (E) to save the deletion.
