How Do I Support Tenants After a Natural Disaster?

Storable CRM

Use Storable CRM to quickly stabilize operations, keep tenants informed, and reduce payment issues when a natural disaster affects your facilities.

Quick start:
- Suspend or delay automatic payments for affected tenants.
- Notify tenants about closures, access limitations, and safety updates.
- Add clear location alerts so every agent sees critical information.
- Contact Storable CRM Support or your Customer Success Manager for extra help.

1. Suspend or Delay Auto Collection Events

If your facility is damaged or units are temporarily unavailable for rent, you can pause or delay automatic payments for affected tenants.

  • Follow the steps in our Help Article, "Delay Collection Events".

  • Apply changes only to locations or tenants directly impacted by the event.

2. Notify Tenants of Operational Changes

Keep tenants informed about closures, limited access, or other disruptions so they know what to expect and how to reach you.

  • Create a message workflow template tailored to the event (for example, facility closure, limited hours, or temporary access rules).

  • Use the workflow to send emails or text messages to specific locations and affected tenants.

  • Set up follow-up communications to share ongoing updates as the situation changes.

3. Set Location Alerts for Your Team

Location alerts help your team handle calls and interactions consistently during the disruption.

  • In the Location Alerts section of your Location Details Settings, add clear notifications such as “Location closed due to storm” or “No gate access due to weather.”

  • Once a Location Alert is created for a location, it appears on the lead and customer interaction card as an Important Information notification:

  • Agents can click the information icon to see the full notification:
